Heywood Hill were keen to establish a contemporary online offering that maintained the shop's special style and clearly define its unique offering. The new website needed to convey the Heywood Hill brand, the excellent personal service that was central to its approach, and the range of tailored literary services on offer.
They asked us to create a new website that would communicate its heritage and become a platform on which they would reinforce and convey their brand to a wider international audience, encouraging visitors to get in touch and to visit the shop.
The website also needed a bespoke back-end CRM System to help manage client accounts and fulfill orders.
We created a responsive, visually engaging and elegant website for Heywood Hill. The new website gives the visitor an instant sense of the bookshop’s character and heritage, and delivers a virtual tour of Heywood Hill through the extensive use of photography.
The site showcases and sells a number of carefully selected items that are sold exclusively by Heywood Hill, displays new antiquarian acquisitions and introduces the range of literary services that they offer, including their famous Year in Books.
Personal service is fundamental to Heywood Hill and great pride is taken in understanding and remembering their customer’s literary taste and reading history. This is why we have built a sophisticated back-end CRM that helps the team to keep an online record of customer’s preferences, and manage and record the fulfillment of orders.
We also integrated a secure and user-friendly e-commerce system that allowed visitors, both in the UK and internationally to shop online.
