The boys asked us to create a website to support their fundraising and media campaign in the run up to and duration of their Atlantic row.
It was fundamental that the site tell their story and convey the enormity of their undertaking. It would be central to attracting and impressing prospective sponsors and be the main platform from which the boys could communicate with their friends, family, supporters and the press.
We designed and built a responsive and fully content managed website.
During the campaign the website featured regularly updated content, including news, events and a press section which was fundamental to attracting return visitors to the website and raising interest from sponsors and fundraisers. During the challenge Olly and Dan regularly posted new stories to keep their supporters updated., even whilst half way across the ocean.
The site also featured an integrated tracker showing the position of all the boats taking part in the competition allowing Dan and Olly’s family and friends to see their location in the ocean.
Team Atlantic Challenge are Dan Parsons and Olly Clark. On the 15th December 2015 they set out on a 3,000-mile journey, rowing across the Atlantic Ocean. Considered to be one of the toughest challenges on earth, made even more difficult by huge waves and unpredictable weather,
42 days, 17 hours & 59 minutes later they completed their journey, winning the pairs class. On top of this they raised over £100,000 for charity.
All of the team here at SAV are immensely proud to have been a small part in their amazing adventure.
