CorpComms Magazine
www.corpcommsmagazine.co.ukSAV designed and built our site when we launched a management buy-out. I'm delighted: it's incomparably better than the previous version. Furthermore, it was completed on time, in budget and without any difficulties; a remarkable achievement given the tight deadline and complex content management system.
CorpComms - Helen Dunne, Owner-Editor
About
CorpComms Magazine is the only monthly magazine targeted at the in-house communicator. Written in a lively and engaging manner, the magazine offers advice and informative articles on a range of topical subjects, such as social and digital media, internal communications, sponsorship and CSR.
The brief
When we first met Helen Dunne, the driving force behind CorpComms, the magazine was part of a group of three titles, all owned by an independent publisher. As editor, Helen was considering a management buy-in, but realised that to flourish independently, CorpComms would need a compelling web presence.
Timescales were tight and we worked fast to show Helen what we could do. We proposed putting the back issues online and creating new, web-only content to bring repeat viewers. We also worked on the business case: advertising, print subscription sales and a job board. The website and underlying technology meant Helen could take CorpComms on to further success.
So, Helen and her investors bought the magazine and we built the website.
Our solution
www.corpcommsmagazine.co.uk features almost all of the content that’s been in CorpComms Magazine over the last 25 issues. It’s updated regularly with new content, both from the print version and as online exclusives.
The site is designed to be managed entirely by the team and CorpComms in due course, though while they get up and running we’re doing it for them. Behind the site is a web-based Content Management System that allows anyone to update any content from anywhere. It’s beautifully simple and is the key to frequent updates which, in turn, are the key to frequent visitors.
Everything on the site is designed, developed and delivered in 100% standards-compliant code, featuring XHTML, CSS, Javascript and the odd piece of AJAX functionality. This makes the site compatible across browsers and devices, accessible to as many people as possible, and highly visible to Google.
We’ve also implemented a job board that allows advertisers to serve themselves to CorpComms’ targeted job ads. Behind the scenes, the service is beautifully easy to maintain and bill for. If you’re looking for someone who specialises in corporate communications and keeps themselves up to date with the latest, it’s the place to go.
Finally, Helen’s keeping us busy improving and adding to the website. It’s gathered fabulous feedback and we’ll make sure it remains the web’s premier source of information on corporate communications.
