Pimpernel & Partners
Pimpernel & Partners specialises in 19th Century French luxury seat-furniture, both vintage and replica, and also offers a range of home accessories. Based at the antiques end of London's King's Road, Pimpernel & Partners also wanted a home on the internet.
The site had to be as elegant as a Giverny Daybed, and as practical as a Mamamushi Ottoman. It had to showcase Pimpernel's products and tempt people into the shop.
The solution
Photography was always going to be the foundation of this site, so we sent our favourite camera-handler to Pimpernel and Partners' showroom. He captured a whole set of images, from abstract shots to those suitable for a product catalogue. The former were used in the design of the site, while the latter allowed us to produce an individual product page for each of Pimpernel's main pieces.
The overall design of the site conveys a sense of simplicity and elegance. The site is split into three sections, plus a content page. Navigation between and within sections is clear, with images used wherever possible.
Although Pimpernel and Partners provided us with text content for the site, they elected not to implement a content management system. As the site will be updated infrequently, we're going to look after the changes. Of course, if that ever changes, we'll easily be able to add content management or, indeed, an online shop!
